The Utah Reference Network (TURN) GPS is a network of permanently located GPS receivers, installed across the state as shown in the map, through partnerships between Cities, Counties and State using equipment and facilities, to generate real time high accuracy GPS positioning. TURN GPS is used for a range of precision GPS applications including surveying, engineering, construction and GIS data collection.
Creating an Account:
Currently the new system does not have an online pay option, so we are forced to use two different systems, we are working on this and should have it completed in the near future.
To set up an account the process is as follows:
To pay for a new account go to turngps.utah.gov and click on the registration button on the left hand side.
Fill in the requested information entering a unique User Name and Password, then pay with a credit card at the end.
Register Account on Pivot:
In your internet browser type in the address bar 126.96.36.199 which brings up the Trimble Pivot web page. Select Register (found on the left side)

Fill in your Personal Data. Enter the personal information, use a unique email for each account.
Don’t enter anything for GSM Phone Number for TNC.

Fill in Login Data
For Organization it works best to keep it small or abbreviated for the first entry, don’t use any punctuation in the Organization name.
For Username use the one created when the account was purchased.
For Password use anything you would like.
After these 3 steps are complete your account is created, then within 24 hours (or less)
you will receive an email confirming that your account has been approved followed by another email notifying you that your subscription has also been created.
Once you receive these emails the account is active and you are ready to configure your data collector.
Set up your data collector/gps unit exactly like the old VRS configuration, but change the IP Address to 188.8.131.52 and enter your new Username and Password.
